Artist painter-sculptor Adel Saghir (born 1930) achieved  international recognition from the early 60s to the present, with his work having been exhibited world wide.

Now living in the United States since 1973 (born in Beirut, Lebanon) he is receiving a growing acclaim in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.

The highly personal and original style of Adel Saghir evolved from the academic training passing through various contemporary art disciplines, into his own personal style.

His work has been characterized as colorful expressive linear patterns within controlled abstract forms, denoting an intuitive enrooting to his Middle Eastern aesthetic heritage.

Art critic Vivian Raynor of the New York Times described his work by saying, "Adel Saghir covers a canvas with circles and oval shapes, building them up obsessively in stripes of all colors and tones. The result is a pulsating edge-to-edge image."

Other art critics reveal that, "Saghir's refusal to accept easy apparent interpretations of abstract art, is rather a delving into the genesis and roots of abstracts art itself."

"I have more than three thousand years of aesthetic heritage beginning with the Sumerians as a package to carry," Adel once said.

"In quest of an inherent authenticity with which he is establishing his own personal style, Saghir is creating a new branch in international abstract art, adding a new understanding to it's realm,"
